The Federal Court has ordered FMG to pay approximately $150.3 million in compensation to Yindjibarndi native title holders for mining that has occurred on Yindjibarndi Ngurra since 2012. While this is the largest native title compensation award in Australian history, it is represents only a small fraction of the estimated $70 billion in revenue generated since 2012 by FMG’s mine, located predominantly on Yindjibarndi Ngurra.
