Wunggu Maya Transitional Housing Program
In 2024, ten transitional housing units and a commercial training facility were completed in Roe Street, Roebourne.
This facility, the Wunggu Maya Housing & Training Centre, is managed by Yindjibarndi Nation Limited.
It enables eligible apprentices and medium-income employees access to stable, affordable accommodation and offers a pathway to transition to private rental or home ownership.
The Wunggu Maya Housing Program is a housing and support program for Aboriginal people living and working in the Roebourne, Wickham or Karratha area. Participants in the program access affordable rent and support to gain independent living skills relating to employment, training, financial capacity, health and well-being.
